The image provides information about the age and place of birth of the oldest living people in the world.

Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

You should write at least 150 words.

The image presents data on the oldest living individuals globally as of August 26, 2024, ranked by age. The list comprises eight centenarians from various countries, with ages ranging from 114 years 97 days to 116 years 95 days.

Tomiko Itooka from Japan holds the top position at 116 years 95 days, closely followed by Inah Canabarro Lucas from Brazil at 116 years 79 days. The third oldest person, Elizabeth Francis from the United States, is 115 years 32 days old, demonstrating a slight age gap from the top two.

The remaining five individuals on the list are all 114 years old, with ages varying by days. These include Ethel Caterham from the United Kingdom, Okagi Hayashi and Hisako Shiroishi from Japan, Charlotte Kretschmann from Germany, and Marie-Rose Tessier from Canada.

Japan is notably represented by three individuals on the list, more than any other country. The data indicates a predominance of women among the world’s oldest living people, with seven out of eight entries being female.
