Ielts GT Writing Task 1 Sample 38
Write a letter to the manager of a local sports facility requesting extended operating hours. Include:
- Reasons for needing extended hours.
- How extended hours would benefit the community.
- A proposal for how these extended hours could be managed.
Dear Mrs. Beasley,
I hope this letter finds you in good health. I am writing to request an extension of the operating hours at our local sports facility, Rockers Sports Club. I believe that extending the hours of operation would greatly benefit our community in several ways.
Firstly, the current operating hours of the facility often limit accessibility for many residents who work irregular hours or have busy schedules. This restricts their ability to engage in physical activities and sports, which are essential for promoting a healthy lifestyle. By extending the hours, we can cater to a broader range of community members, allowing them to maintain and improve their physical well-being.
Furthermore, extended operating hours would provide a safe and constructive environment for our youth during critical evening hours. It would help keep them engaged in sports and recreational activities, diverting their attention away from less productive or risky activities.
To manage these extended hours effectively, I propose the following:
- Hire additional staff or adjust existing staff schedules to cover the extended hours.
- Implement a reservation system to ensure fair access and manage facility capacity during peak times.
- Clearly communicate the new hours of operation to the community through various channels, including social media, flyers, and the facility’s website.
I firmly believe that extending the operating hours of Rockers Sports Club would contribute positively to our community’s health, well-being, and overall quality of life. I kindly request that you consider this proposal and work towards its implementation.
Thank you for your attention to this matter, and I am open to discussing this further if needed. I look forward to hearing your thoughts on this request.
Yours faithfully,
Phoebe Granger
